How to Uncover Blindspots in Your Personal Development

How to Uncover Blindspots in Your Personal Development

“Feedback is the breakfast of champions” – Ken Blanchard

First of all, happy #StarWarsDay. May the Fourth be with you 🙂

Think for a moment – Are you able to identify your own blind spots during your leadership and personal development? Probably not – that’s why they are blind spots, right? Don’t worry too much about this, but it makes sense to do something about it.

The cool thing is, friends, coworkers, family members, and others in our lives probably CAN see those blind spots. Asking them and getting feedback can be the key to unleashing your full potential. They can help you figure out what needs to be done for your personal development and what changes to make to become more effective.

So, include them. Ask them. Make them a part of your personal development journey.

This includes asking for feedback from your peers, mentors, or coaches. I’ve mentioned it before (and probably will again), but don’t try to accomplish everything on your own.

You need people in your life who can examine you from a different perspective in such a way that you will become more successful.

Ask for feedback, uncover your blind spots.

Yet just asking and getting this insight isn’t the end. You need to wholeheartedly accept their feedback. You can begin with the easy tasks and work your way up to the more difficult ones.

Those who take input from others and apply it to themselves for personal development are more likely to succeed. Period.

Who will you ask for feedback this week?
